More and more brands are considering sound design as an integral part of their user experience. And even more platforms, devices and services use audio as a main driver. But how can sound and music become a key component in a brand’s identity and design language? And how can we do it strategically and intentionally in order to bridge the gap between function and aesthetic? Let’s add a new dimension to UX/UI through sonic branding.
Simon Kringel is a composer, sound designer and co-founder of the Copenhagen-based sonic branding agency Unmute. He started his career as a music producer which led him in to the advertising and design industry. After a period as freelancer Simon joined Chimney, a global creation agency, in 2014 and ended up as head of their music department working with a wide range of global clients. The need for a specialized sound agency became more and more evident and in 2018 Simon set out to start Unmute together with a former Chimney colleague. The company has been on a constant rise ever since and is now working with brands and agencies across the globe - connecting them with their audience through sound, music and audible user experiences.
